the chocolate Easter eggs are long gone
the sisters too
.
everybody just loves FANJAs CAT
luckily the real cat doesn´t care too much about it
she´s currently recovering from a huge cat fight
i admire the cat´s way of healing, just sleeping and purring all day long
.
everything is turned into a pattern lately
flowers, wrapping paper, grey tulips
it looks like can´t get my mind off a project
it´ll be finished tomorrow though
those blue samples didn´t make it so i turned them into something else
.
a funny picture E took of me and my new paper hat
since i´m super sun/heat sensitive you won´t find me without one of those all summer
can´t wait to put it on again:)
.
A SWAN LAKE - rad!
new posts on GUT SEIN

happy easter
from the easter queen and her sweet king
all dressed up in the signature attire of fake grass stole and pussy willow crown
have a wonderful weekend everybody!
.
speaking of queens
K is definitly the CHEESE CAKE one
she works miracles every single time
the one Julie is writing about was probably the most legendary version so far

dear TI kindly invited me to be part of her ZWISCHENZEIT series
i don´t do lenten resolutions but i do eat so i tried to come up with something
and since the post is in German on her blog - here it is again in English
.
unfortunately that rebus doesn´t make any sense to not German speakers
(buckwheat = book beer)
also i wouldn´t recommend making yourself a buckwheat bracelet
it doesn´t keep that well
but W would like to make it in gold
just kidding
.
my sister thinks buckwheat tastes at the same time boring and interesting
so it needs strong companions
.
the first loose recipe:
wash and cook buckwheat according to instructions
caramelize chestnuts and spring onions
slice a pear
get some yoghurt and dries berries
or anything else you like
eat it
.
in case you´re in the mood for pancakes
i´d start like that:
80g buckwheat flour
80g spelt flour
1 tea spoon baking powder
sugar and salt as you like
150ml milk
2 apples roughly grated

mix everything and add more milk or flour to get right consistency
let sit for a while
bake pancakes

eat with ricotta mixed with brown sugar and vanilla
or maple sirup

also you can use buttermilk or water instead of milk (or even beer)
or add an egg or a pad of butter
switch the apples for pears or beets
do as you like

bits and pieces from the last weeks
.

so many wild tulips in my garden
they´re the best ones - ANDREA loves them too
got mine HERE - excellent selection and quality

.
just a redness-hider
who loves a bit of lipstick and nail polish though
currently trying NAIL GLOW to hide my dirty work nails
.
since i´m going to have a bit of exploratory surgery in a few weeks
i started to look for little treats to look forward to afterwards
like getting a new haircut
wearing those dangerously white  and utterly comfortably Chloe jeans
(found at TK Maxx, yay)
for as long as i´m not allowed to work in the workshop or garden
and that pretty blue scarf from MEINGEFANGEN - thank you so much, Franziska
watching my geraniums come to life again
after they´ve spent the winter in the basement
and using the rose varieties to scent my BIRTHDAY CAKE
writing something sweet using the serif cookie cutters from the flea market
making more furniture with W - the first piece is almost finished now
getting painted by E
eating more rhubarb scones with a new friend and fellow glass bead lover
wearing a lot of jewellery from the new collection
since hopefully everything will be ready and in the SHOP before the anaesthesia hits
.
VANILLA RHUBARB SCONES
(slightly based on a recipe from GOOD TO THE GRAIN)
1 (generous) cup spelt flour
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
pinch of salt and vanilla
mix those dry ingredients
rub in 60 g butter or ghee with your fingertips
slice up 3 - 4 stalks of rhubarb and add them to the flour-butter mixture
quickly mix it with 3/4 cup yoghurt using a fork
the doug should be wet but not too sticky
add flour or liquid if needed
pat into a thick disc and slice into 6 wedges
bake for 18 min at 200 degree celsium
.
have a wonderful Easter week
there might be some special "themed" posts coming up...
