meet the VERY TINY RINGS
a smaller more delicate thing never has left our workshop
silver and tiny bits of ebony
we spend quite some time searching for tiny casts on the floor
since they really slip away so easily
.
also working on a bit of hammered structure for some wedding bands
(makes beautiful arm muscles by the way)
on brass samples
looks nice with polka dot pyjamas
.
had so much FUN at the carnival this weekend
(i even did the twist, E - well, kind of...)
i didn´t dress up in like 15 years
and now i´m hooked
.
i think i was something like a mouse
my grandmother clearly a skiing bunny
lately i start the days shoving snow
and instead of riding my bike into town
i´m wheeling it
.
should i work on a diamond cut brass FAKE CRYSTAL
to make some engagement rings?
but somehow i really do not like those cuts...
.
yesterday i watched PRIDE AND PREJUDICE
and fell in love with it all over again
so since it´s Valentines Day
send a Mr Darcy my way
he doesn´t have to be that rich
.
i´ll feed him with those SHORTBREAD HEARTS
(minus the rose petals - those have to wait for summer)
with this MASCARPONE CHERRY TOPPING
that´s right
went to a golden glitter party the other night
where a certain someone told me she´s getting married
- congratulations, dear T + J -
.
and since i´m on it
- congratulations to J + A, too -
.
it´s going to be a festive year
.
and get well soon, E in Milano
(she requested such a note here...)
it´s TINY HEART NECKLACE TIME again
.
those dashing valentines are my great-grandparents
(yes, she´s somehow holding up a fox fur stole)
they worked in a bookbinding shop
and climbed the Zugspitze wearing Lederhosen and a dirndl
later on her little bunches of garden flowers
became quite popular on the farmers market
.
i never met her, but i´m named after her
.
he told us the most exciting stories
about getting out of your nailed shoes on the Alps
when a storm comes up and hide them under a stone
so you wouldn´t get struck by lightning
.
and he taught us how to do ski gymnastics
way up to his nineties
neither of us has skied til now... we´re a quite disapointing bunch
it´s so freezing outsidemy brain feels numbeverytime i enter a warm roomthe temperature difference being over 30 degreesfelt so dazed at the book club meeting the other dayi couldn´t speak a word...(we read NOTES ON A SCANDALand it seemed i was the only one finding Barbara kind of funny).wouldn´t you love to join the EVEN CLEVELAND bookclub?!.this is my great granddad skiinghe actually framed the picture in this angleto give it a more daring lookclever, right?
